Meet the Team: Jenny Duckett – Finance Manager at Click4Assistance
As Click4Assistance grew, the need for strong financial oversight behind the scenes became increasingly important. Keeping everything running smoothly, from daily transactions to longer term planning, was a key part of that and Jenny came along at the right time.
Jenny joined the company over six years ago, stepping into a Finance Administrator role at a time when the organisation was expanding and refining its internal processes. Since then, she has played a key role in shaping the finance function, bringing structure, efficiency, and a keen eye for detail to everything she does. Today, as Finance Manager, Jenny is at the heart of the company’s financial operations, helping to keep everything balanced, optimised, and running like clockwork.
From Numbers to Leadership
Jenny’s journey into finance was driven by a genuine passion for numbers, they “just seem to speak” to her. For Jenny, there’s something uniquely satisfying about the certainty they offer. They are either right or wrong, and when something doesn’t quite add up, it becomes a puzzle to solve.
This mindset has been central to her success. A love of problem-solving, combined with persistence and attention to detail, has enabled Jenny to thrive in a role where accuracy is everything. Whether she’s tracking down discrepancies or refining processes, she approaches each challenge with determination and clarity.
Her progression within the company reflects this dedication. Starting as a Finance Administrator, Jenny steadily expanded her responsibilities, demonstrating both technical expertise and leadership capability. Her promotion to Finance Manager stands as one of her proudest achievements, which serves as an acknowledgement of her hard work and the value she brings to the team.
Six and a Half Years of Growth
Having been with the company for 6.5 years, Jenny reflects on how quickly the time has passed, in that period, both she and the organisation have evolved significantly.
When Jenny first joined, the finance function was still developing. Over time, she has helped to streamline processes, introduce additional checks, and ensure that financial operations are both efficient and reliable. These improvements have not only reduced the risk of errors but have also made information more accessible across the business.
Jenny has also played a key role in growing the finance team itself by interviewing, hiring, and training new team members. This has helped to build a strong foundation for the department, ensuring that it can continue to support the company as it expands.
Her progression from Finance Administrator to Finance Manager is a clear highlight, representing both personal growth and professional recognition.
A Day in the Life of a Finance Manager
No two days are exactly the same, but Jenny’s role revolves around maintaining a steady rhythm of financial activity.
A typical day begins with responding to customer finance queries, ensuring that any issues are resolved quickly and professionally. From there, she moves on to managing daily finance tasks, keeping everything up to date and running smoothly.
Jenny is also constantly on the lookout for ways to improve efficiency. This might involve identifying cost-saving opportunities, exploring investments, or reviewing suppliers to ensure the company is getting the best possible value.
As the month progresses, her focus shifts. Payroll processing and supplier payments become priorities, requiring precision and careful attention. Then, as the end of the month approaches, invoicing takes centre stage. During this period, Jenny is fully focused on ensuring that all invoices are sent out accurately and on time, ready to begin the cycle again.
It’s a role that demands organisation, discipline, and adaptability, and Jenny handles it all with calm efficiency.
What Drives Jenny
The core of Jenny’s work is to keep the company financially healthy and efficient. She takes pride in saving money on expenditure and generating income wherever possible. For Jenny, it’s about making sure the company is operating in the smartest way it can.
Equally important is accessibility. Jenny is passionate about ensuring that financial information is readily available when needed. In a fast-moving business environment, having accurate data at your fingertips can make all the difference, and Jenny works hard to make that a reality.
A Culture That Works
When asked to describe the company culture, Jenny highlights three key qualities: inclusive, reactive, and focused.
The inclusive nature of the organisation means that everyone’s ideas are welcomed and considered, particularly during team meetings. This openness nurtures collaboration and encourages innovation across departments.
The reactive aspect reflects the company’s agility, especially within the development team, who are constantly working on new features and improvements. It’s a fast-paced environment where change is embraced.
“Focused” captures the team’s work ethic. There’s a strong sense of concentration and dedication throughout the company, with everyone committed to doing their best work.
Together, these qualities create a workplace where people can thrive.
The Power of Teamwork
For Jenny, one of the standout aspects of working at C4A is the team itself.
Despite the busy nature of the office, there’s a strong sense of camaraderie that runs through the organisation. People are dedicated, support one another, share knowledge, and work together to achieve common goals.
This dedication is evident not only in the quality of work produced but also in the willingness of team members to go the extra mile when needed. It’s this collective effort that helps drive the company forward.
A Sense of Humour
While finance may be a serious business, Jenny brings a sense of humour to her role.
One particularly memorable moment came just two weeks after she started at the company. She arrived at work with a severe eye infection that left her looking, in her words, like “the elephant man.” She likened the experience to Sloth from The Goonies!
It’s moments like these that add personality to the workplace and remind everyone not to take themselves too seriously.

Life Outside of Work
Outside the office, Jenny is currently training to become a Spiritual Healer, and is making great progress. It’s a pursuit that allows her to focus on wellbeing and personal growth, offering a balance to her analytical work in finance.
Jenny also enjoys jigsaws, reading, and sewing, which allows her to unwind and express her creativity.
One of her more unique passions is her love for Betty Boop. A fan since childhood, she has built an impressive collection of statues, including four that stand at three feet tall in her lounge. It’s a hobby that brings her joy. “Boop-Boop-Be-Doop”
Jenny’s skills extend beyond finance. In fact, one of her most impressive achievements took place outside of work.
When her sister-in-law’s florist cancelled just 48 hours before the wedding, Jenny stepped in to save the day. Despite working full-time, she created the entire set of wedding flowers, from the bridal bouquet to buttonholes and corsages.
The result was a beautifully coordinated set of arrangements, completed under intense time pressure and with very little sleep. It’s a testament to Jenny’s creativity, resourcefulness, and willingness to go above and beyond for others.
Looking Ahead
If given a week off tomorrow, Jenny knows exactly what she would do first: set up her dedicated “work room” at home. Having a space to focus on her hobbies would allow her to spend more time doing what she loves, without turning the rest of the house into a creative workspace.
Looking further into the future, her goal is clear. She works hard so she can save hard, with the ultimate aim of retiring in Spain. It’s a dream that reflects both her practical mindset and her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Meet the Person Behind the Numbers
When asked to describe herself, Jenny chooses three words: loyal, friendly, and hard-working.
These qualities shine through in everything she does, from her commitment to the company to her relationships with colleagues and her dedication to continuous improvement.
Everyone agrees that Jenny is a vital part of the team at Click4Assistance. Her expertise, attention to detail, and proactive approach ensure that the company’s financial operations run smoothly day in and day out. In fact, Jenny is the Mary Poppins of the office. Whatever is needed she always seems to have it handy in her bag of tricks.
But it’s her personality that truly stands out. Whether she’s supporting her team, solving problems, or bringing a sense of humour to the workplace, Jenny embodies the values that make C4A a great place to work.
