The best Black Friday tech deals in 2023

The best Black Friday tech deals in 2023

Discover when Black Friday starts this year, where to find bargains, and which retailers have the steepest discounts.

With Black Friday 2023 just around the corner, everyone is wondering where they can get the best tech deals. Keen Christmas shoppers are looking for steep discounts on Amazon Fire Sticks, Apple Watches, Google Home Assistants, and HP notebooks.

But where can you find the best discounts? That’s the topic of this post. We look at where the sales are happening and how you can get money off your Christmas haul this year.

When do Black Friday sales start in the UK?

Retailers are scheduling 2023’s Black Friday for the 24th of November. That’s when many department stores and national chains will begin offering money off selected lines.

However, the Black Friday season will likely last longer than one day to prevent panic and fights over dwindling supplies of products. Some are already launching early bird deals, with others planning sales throughout late November and the first part of December.

What tech deals will be available on Black Friday 2023?

Numerous retailers are already signalling their plans to reduce the price of various tech products in anticipation of Black Friday 2023. Some are even posting discounts right now!

Looking ahead, we expect higher discounts on some lines than others. For example, we could see significant discounts on previous Google Pixel generations as the search engine releases the Pixel 8. Discounts could also apply to prior generations of Samsung Galaxy handsets and older Apple Watches and accessories.

Tech products for bicycles will likely also see steep declines, given the demand problems affecting the industry. Fewer bike sales mean companies aren’t selling as many GPS companions, forcing retailers to lower prices.

Which online retailers offer the best discounts on Black Friday?

We don’t know which retailers will offer the best discounts on tech this coming Black Friday. But we can point you towards those already offering money off.

Amazon

Amazon is well-known for offering substantial Black Friday discounts during the November sales. Last year, it sold smartphones, speakers, heart rate monitors, and even blood glucose measuring devices at cut prices. Selected Alexa home assistants were 70 per cent off, and Ring smart doorbell devices were 60 per cent off. This year’s sale will start on November 23rd.

AO

UK shoppers will also find spectacular deals at AO on various smart home appliances, TVs and smartwatches over the Black Friday period. What’s more, the site is already running some deals for shoppers who want to start early.

For instance, you can get the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro for £329, discounted from £429. You can also pick up the Samsung Series 7 CU7100 55-inch TV for £399, reduced from £479. For the latest deals in your inbox, simply sign up for the retailer’s newsletter.

Argos

Argos is another place to look for early Black Friday bargains. The value electronics, toys, and homewares retailer says any prices on its site now will not fall further before the 1st of January 2024, so get in there quick.

Currently, it is offering the Sage Barista Touch espresso coffee machine for £800, which is £250 less than the usual asking price. You can also pick up the Samsung 50-inch Smart 4K UHD HDR TV for £349 instead of the regular £399. Those wanting to save even more can sign up to Argos Marketing and get £5 off when spending £40 or more.

John Lewis

Without John Lewis, no Christmas shopping experience would be complete. That’s why the department store is offering big discounts on selected electronics lines in the run-up to the festive season. There’s up to £100 off MacBooks, £300 off TVs, 40 per cent off small kitchen appliances, £100 off computing, and up to £100 off smartwatches.

The store is also offering various payment plans for the season, letting buyers spread the cost. Pay small amounts over several months throughout 2024.

Currys

Black Friday deals are also available at Currys, a retailer famous for offering bargains at this time of year. Get money off TVs, gaming products, health and beauty electronics, laptops, tablets, and PCs.

Unlike other retailers, Currys has a strict policy of ending its Black Friday deals on the 24th of November. So, to save money, you must grab your deals before then.

Black Friday free delivery is available on all orders over £40 with all-day delivery. Prices are higher if you want delivery by a certain time of day or you spend less than £40.

GAME

GAME is also offering deals on gaming electronics, with up to 50 per cent off on some items. For example, Resident Evil 4 Remake was £37.98, but now the retailer is offering it for just £21.98. Missile Command X ReplicCade (an arcade replica) is now selling for just £99.98, reduced from £159.99 earlier in the year. Keen buyers can also get money off Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headphones, PS5 controllers, twin power charging stations, and Xbox consoles.

Direct sales

Finally, leading brands and manufacturers also host direct sales on their websites over Black Friday. These include Samsung, Google, and Apple, giving you discounts on smartphone contracts, handsets, home assistance devices, and health monitoring accessories.

When do Black Friday deals end?

How long Black Friday discounts last will depend on stock levels and the specific retailer’s plans. Most will end on Monday 27th November after the weekend. However, some will linger on into December.

Therefore, always check the policy of the specific retailer. You may not have a second weekend to take advantage of discounts.

Also, note that Black Friday and Cyber Monday periods can vary between online and brick-and-mortar retailers. The former are more likely to offer ongoing deals, while the latter might host a single event.

Now you’re ready for Black Friday

Black Friday is just around the corner (and already upon us in some cases). Crucially, it’s by far and away the best time of year to save money on tech products. Expect savings of upwards of 50 per cent in some cases.

If you get stuck, don’t worry. Many retailers are finding out how to put live chat on website homepages, so you can always ask them where to find the best deals. Don’t miss out!
