2012 was a record breaking year for e-commerce sales in the UK. Stats from Experian Hitwise indicate that Boxing Day 2012 was the busiest ever for online retail in the UK, with consumers spending 14m hours online and making 113m visits to online retail sites.
These figures were up 11% from the previous year, with Christmas Eve and Day also seeing browsing on retail sites increase by 86% and 71% in comparison to 2011
