Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year everyone! We know that today, you might be a little dehydrated from last nights celebrations so we’ll keep it light with some tech resolutions your business needs to look into for 2020.

Know what your team members do

It’s amazing that in a world of information and technology, a lot of us don’t actually know what our teammates do. Instead of going to the wrong person for a request, head straight to the source and save time, and in your company’s view, money (time is money). By having an internal group chat option, like Slack or even a WhatsApp group, asking questions like these could make you more effective, but you’ll also help others in the group who didn’t know either! Sharing is caring, but no memes please!

This also goes for managers and employers: make sure your team members are aware of what their colleagues do and provide a platform for them to exchange ideas and ask questions in a professional, safe space. Not only will it save time, but it will also foster a stronger team spirit.

Automaaaaaate mate!

We’re officially in 2020. If you’re not automating yet, then what are you even doing?! (Just joking…) There are lots of ways to save time and resources for your employees and yourself. Are you still manually moving emails into folders rather than setting up rules so you don’t miss the important things? Are you still not using live chat for small business yet? Are you not using an AI chatbot to automagically engage your visitors and support the conversion process? If you’re not doing any automation yet, a quick Google search can give you a few hacks that will save time and money, and make yourself and your organisation much more productive.

Time to get chatty with it

2020 is the year of the chat. Instant messaging has been with us since the early 1990s so it’s a part of our core communication. For many, it’s a preferred method of communication because of its speed of resolution, but it also possesses a fantastic benefit of bridging gaps between those who have difficulties with communicating over the telephone or in person and those who can assist them. Simply put, if your business is not using a live chat for website yet, this is the year to get it done.

Make data-driven decisions

When decisions are made, are you making them from a position of data or fiction? Some decisions don’t require data, but others, such as the ones that can impact your sales or determine whether your marketing is effective, should be made from a position of data. How are you measuring your team’s efficiency? How do you measure your marketing or customer service quality? Did you know that Click4Assistance can give you reports that show this?

Stay secure and go cloud

The more attention you pay to tech news, the more you hear about data breaches and privacy violations. This only means that when you’re committing to software for your business, you have to ensure that it’s encrypted to the highest level and stored securely. Be sure to ask about their privacy policies and data storage methods.

Switching to cloud services and storage is much cheaper than locally hosting your own data and also has the bonus of reducing the stress of maintaining your own data storage. It may also be more secure than hosting your data yourself, which can be massively expensive to properly secure.

Unplug more often

We live in a 24 hour world. In 2020, one of your company’s resolutions should be to encourage and support unplugging for a few hours a day as a work/life balance initiative. Studies show that unplugging can improve focus, creativity and productivity, which is in any company’s best interest. Let’s look forward to having more healthy relationships with our devices in 2020!
